What You Can Expect From Our Toddler Program and How To Support Your Child’s Learning At Home

Many working parents seek daycare for their children and choosing the program that suits your family can be a challenge. The Montessori Toddler Program offers a safe, nurturing and educational environment for young children from 18 months to 3 years old that differs from infant daycare because it was based on Dr. Maria Montessori’s extensive research. Dr. Montessori’s research demonstrated that young children at this ago have the capacity to learn specific things such as:
  • At Montessori we have designed our program to foster this value in children.
  • Absorb language from their environs. We encourage children to use words to express their needs and feelings.
  • Gain independence by doing. We promote every child’s intrinsic desire to do things for his or herself.
The Montessori Toddler Program provides toddlers with learning laboratory where they can develop these skills with support from credentialed Montessori teachers. Toddlers begin by learning how to develop order, coordination, concentration, and independence. Our classroom is designed to support each child’s emerging self-regulation.

Recreating The Montessori Daycare Model At Home

Toddlers can spend a half or full day
in our Montessori Toddler Program and parents may choose to recreate this environment at home to support their child’s development and provide consistency. Recreating the prepared environment (classroom) at home begins by organizing each area of the house:
  • Use small rugs or roll up carpets to provide a comfortable space for your toddler to work.
  • Organize your child’s belongings using trays and baskets. Children need help keeping their personal space uncluttered.
  • Create a small space in every room that contains a few, select items for the child to access, for example, placing a small chair or stool by the front door where they can remove their coat and shoes and have a place to keep them.
  • Limit the amount of toys and books available, and rotate them occasionally so that the environment continues to be stimulating to your child.
Helping children establish the habit of organizing their environment helps to minimize stress and assists in the development of an organized, efficient and creative mind.   Our toddler program provides families with three enrollment options, our half day program ends at 11:45am, all day ends at 3:15 and we offer the extended day program which ends at 6:00pm.
