Opportunity for Peace Education

Dear TMS Friends and Families,

With the end of the election process, I was struck by the depth of emotion that people are feeling. Yesterday (on Wednesday), I met with the 6th Grade for our weekly Leadership Forum and wanted to give them, as the oldest students in the school, an opportunity to process whatever they may have been exposed to in the past months. We talked about what good winners and good losers look like, what they say, and how they deal with their emotions. Then we watched President Obama's speech calling for unity and and a smooth transition of leadership. We talked about how he responded in the face of the emotions he was most likely feeling and how he took on the role of peacemaker, as the leader of all Americans.

"Respect for self, others and the world; each of us is an ambassador of peace." These are our core values at TMS. TMS children are guided to live out these values each day in school. It is these values that unite all of us here at TMS in our service to you and your children.

TMS is committed to bringing people of all backgrounds together to educate children, and TMS is dedicated to raising the peacemakers of tomorrow. Thank you for entrusting your children to us as we pursue this important work.
